Stokes of Lincoln was established in 1902 and from our early days we have occupied the fine sixteenth century half-timbered building on the mediaeval High Bridge, which spans the river Witham in the centre of Lincoln. The cafe has two dining rooms where you can sit at the leaded windows above the shop and enjoy your morning coffee, luncheon or perhaps afternoon tea whilst watching the people, the boats and of course, the swans below.
Although the name of Stokes is often associated with tea and coffee in Lincoln, the extremely popular cafe also boasts a full and varied all day food menu serving mouth watering dishes ranging from the old time favourites of steak pie, roast dinners and fish and chips to the lighter choices of Cajun chicken, Caesar or goat cheese salads, sandwiches, home made soups and daily chef's and vegetarian specials.
In the afternoons, the cafe offers a delightful traditional afternoon tea, served on an old fashioned cake stand as well as a varied teatime menu including cream teas, hot meals and snacks.
Tuesday are "two for one" on certain dishes after 2pm.
